Musician Portrait XO and video artist Ali M Demirel are interested in how nature communicates without us humans. Through this concert, they want to celebrate the wild structures of nature and its synergies through music and visuals. Both artists are exploring recent AI technologies in their creative work.

Ali M Demirel, who was born in Turkey in 1972, initially studied nuclear engineering and architecture before pursuing art. He specializes in real-time computer-generated images and creates interactive audiovisual performances. Genre-defying experimental pop artist Portrait XO was awarded the first Human-Machine Creativity Award jazzki by Elbjazz in 2023.  They’ve performed and presented at The UN AI for Good Summit, Sónar Festival, Ars Electronica, SXSW, ADE, MONOM, Reeperbahn, International Music Summit and more.

With inspiration from Nobel Prize laureate Paul Nurse’s book What Is Life? they will translate visual data to sound and create a unique audiovisual experience.

The concert, which takes place in the museum’s Bistro Nobel, starts at 18:00 and lasts about one hour. During the evening, Bistro Nobel serves small dishes from its Friday menu and offers cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic options. The bistro is open until 21:00. The ticket price also includes admission to the museum’s exhibitions, which are also open until 21:00.
