Selecting a laureate in literature is not easy. The Nobel Committee of the Swedish Academy chooses among the foremost writers of our age. Their choices are often surprising, sometimes controversial and always thought-provoking.

Only a few hours after the laureate(s) have been announced, we will gain a unique insight into the thinking of committee members this year as they have read, discussed and finally reached agreement on who should receive this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature. In addition, they give tips on how to get to know the laureate’s work in the best way and we get freshly selected texts read out by actor and director Philip Zandén.

This conversation with Ellen Mattson, Anders Olsson and Anne Swärd will be moderated by Carin Klaesson of the Nobel Prize Museum. The conversation will begin at 18:00.

Before and after the event, you are welcome to visit the museum’s exhibitions as well as Bistro Nobel, which serves tasty dishes and beverages.
