The Nobel Prize in Literature is the world’s most influential literary prize, and its impact on the Swedish book market is great. Jana Rüegg, doctoral student in literary studies at Uppsala University and author of Nobel Trajectories: The Swedish Publishing of Translated Nobel Prize Laureates since 1970, talks about Swedish publishing trends for Nobel Prize awarded literature, what significance the translation and the translator have and how all this can be related to a canon of world literature.
Take the chance to meet some of Sweden’s most promising young researchers. In collaboration with Young Academy of Sweden, quizzes, conversations and mini lectures with interactive elements are organized during the autumn in connection with the Nobel Prize Museum’s exhibition Life Eternal at Liljevalchs. The events take place on Saturday afternoons and are included in the regular admission ticket.
