Experience a meeting between sound art and photography when Başak Günak performs in the exhibition Snow and rain will pass with photos by Swedish artist Karin Alfredsson.

Sound artist and composer Başak Günak is internationally known as Ah! Kosmos in the field of electronic music. Günak composes soundscapes for theater, contemporary dance, film, visual art projects, and creates site-specific performances. Her works have been featured in art institutions, such as Berlin State Museums, Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Royal Theater Carré and Kunstmuseum Basel.

She released three solo albums – Bastards, Beautiful Swamp and Rewilding as well as numerous EPs. In Rewilding (2024), she incorporates sounds gathered from her sound art and previous sound installations. Rewilding embodies the sounds of whistles, whispers, sine waves, murmurs, deconstructed South-Eastern Anatolian folk songs and the instruments: organ, bass clarinet and a broken piano.

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience sound art inspired by nature and wilderness, surrounded by Karin Alfredssons photographs of wild and untouched nature. The exhibition also features Alfredsson’s short film Norra ishavet, touching on our own smallness in the face of nature’s might.
