Alfred Nobel had a broad interest in culture. During his early youth, he developed a passion for literature that lasted throughout his life. His library consisted of a wide selection of books in many languages, and he also wrote fiction himself. Literature was the fourth prize category that Nobel mentioned in his will. Since 1901, Nobel Prize laureates in literature have been selected by the Swedish Academy.
On 10 October, at no earlier than 13:00, we will find out who will be added to the 120-name list of literature laureates. Do you want to experience this exciting moment with us at the Nobel Prize Museum? Every day we will live-stream when each Nobel Prize committee announces who will be awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in its field. Invited experts will help us understand what achievements are being rewarded and what this may mean for the future.
