On Saturday, the museum stage will feature a dazzling physics show. The Department of Physics at Stockholm University will present a show packed with experiments and explanations of what is happening on stage. The show is suitable for all children who are curious and want to know more about everyday physics and phenomena.
In the workshop, we will try out chromatography and work with separation of colours. Chromatography is a method that is heavily used by chemists all over the world. The method also received a Nobel Prize – the 1952 chemistry prize.
New things will be happening in the workshop on Sunday, when all children can try to create their own shadow theatre.
On Sunday, the Pygmy Theatre will present a theatre performance, Einstein is Thinking ‒ a hilarious and thought-provoking story about how science and fantasy meet, about understanding, compassion, friendship and bad fiddle-playing! Two people, a puppet and a shadow play. It’s night in the laboratory. A disheartened Einstein sits at his desk. No one understands what he is trying to explain. They think he is too complicated, too messy ‒ and all those formulas! He tries to comfort himself with some violin playing, but then he falls asleep over his piles of papers. Suddenly a magical little figure appears: Albert. Like in a dream, he shows Einstein a different way of telling his story. This marks the beginning of a journey that takes us into space, explains gravity, magnetism and much more… For children aged 6 and up.
Running time about 40 minutes. Ages: 6 years and up
