Do you become immune if you have had COVID-19? This has been a vital question during the current pandemic. At Karolinska Institutet, a medical university, and at Karolinska University Hospital, clinical studies are under way to investigate the associations between antibodies, T cells and immunity. Among the questions to which researchers are seeking answers are: Do we have full protection just because we have antibodies or T cells? What happens if a person has a compromised immune system and is vaccinated against COVID-19? And what is “better”: Immunity after vaccination or after a natural COVID infection? Meet two of the researchers who are leading these studies.
