William D. Nordhaus, was awarded the prize for his work on integrating climate change into long-run macro-economic analysis.

Professor Nordhaus has spent the better part of four decades to persuade governments to address climate change. In the 1990s he became the first person to create a model that describes the global interplay between the economy and the climate. Nordhausmodel is now widely used for simulations of this interplay. The model is also an important tool to examine the consequences of climate change policy interventions.

At the seminar, Nordhaus will give an overview of his research findings and address the implications for climate change policy.

The seminar is a collaboration between the Nobel Center and SNS.

The seminar will be held in English.

William D. Nordhaus, Sterling Professor of Economics at Yale University and recipient of the 2018 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

The seminar will be moderated by Klas Eklund, Senior Economist at the law firm Mannheimer Swartling.

Questions Registration

Welcome!
