To highlight and honor this year\u2019s Nobel Prize laureates and their discoveries, fashion students from\u00a0Beckmans College of Design<\/strong> have created free interpretations of this year\u2019s prizes in the form of wearable ceremonial attire. They will present their creations during the night.<\/p>\n

Listen to researcher and designer\u00a0Maurizio Montalti\u00a0<\/strong>(IT) in a conversation about what he describes as an upcoming \u201cbiotechnological revolution\u201d. Montalti founded the interdisciplinary studio Officina Corpuscoli (NL) in 2010, as well as SQIM\/ephea\/mogu (IT) in 2015. The bio-technological company SQIM\/ephea\/mogu is researching, scaling up, and commercializing various typologies of innovative biomaterials deriving from fermentation-based processes, powered by fungal mycelium.<\/p>\n

A selection of Montalti\u2019s works are shown in the exhibition\u00a0Fungi \u2013 In Art and Science<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> as well as Balenciaga\u2019s \u201cMaxi Hooded Wrap Coat\u201d, realised with ephea, a new class of mycelium-based flexible materials for fashion, developed by Maurizio Montalti and his team. His work has previously been exhibited at museums such as MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, MAXXI in Rome, Triennale in Milan, and the Design Museum in London.<\/p>\n

The ticket price also includes entrance to the museum’s exhibitions, which are open until 21:00. Before and after the conversation, Bistro Nobel offers a special Friday menu<\/a> with well-selected small dishes, suitable wines, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. The bistro is also open until 21:00.<\/p>\n
