Welcome to the opening night of our new exhibition Fungi – In Art and Science.

In the exhibition, the world of mushrooms is explored through artworks, design objects, fashion and contemporary scientific research.

During the evening, you are welcome to experience mushrooms through music, food, performance, and conversations. We offer a special menu in the museum’s bistro, guided tours in the exhibition, audiovisual live performances inspired by the fungal kingdom, and a conversation with biologist, TikTok star, and electro artist Tarun Nayar.

The performance duo The Wind will perform the sound installation Mycel. With this work, the duo dives into the mushroom’s network of roots, the web of mycelial threads underground. Mycel is a network of sound and image where the linear has transformed into a constant flow of living matter. The wind is Siri Jennefelt (composer, sound designer) and Ellen Norlund (artist, scenographer, actor).

TikTok star, biologist, and artist Tarun Nayar, also known as Modern Biology, uses electronic impulses from fungi and plants to create music. During the evening, he will participate in a conversation with on of the exhibition curators Magnus af Petersens as well as do a unique live performance in the museum’s bistro.
