How does a scientific discovery become world news? When medicine laureate 2022, Svante Pääbo, presented the discovery of a new kind of human – the Denisovan – ten years ago, it caused a lot of attention. The technology used was revolutionary, and the discovery was expected to change the way we look at human history. In a conversation with Gustav Källstrand, cultural researcher Mattis Karlsson talks about how the discovery of the Denisovan became a scientific breakthrough.

The conversation is in Swedish and starts at 18:00. Before and after, you are welcome to visit our exhibitions and Bistro Nobel for a glass of bubbly or snacks. See our evening menu here.
