“When I was first arrested in 2019, the officer said, \u201cMa\u2019am, trabaho lang po,\u201d (Ma\u2019am, I\u2019m only doing my job). Then he lowered his voice to almost a whisper as he read my Miranda rights. He was clearly uncomfortable, and I almost felt sorry for him.
