The author Aris Fioretos talks with the Nobel Prize Museum’s Carin Klaesson about literature that testified to the Holocaust. How is evil described? Can empathy and knowledge equip a person to counteract persecution? And what role does literature play in this?

We will pay special attention to Nelly Sachs’ poetry and Imre Kertész’s book Fatelessness. The actor Hannes Meidal reads texts, and after the conversation the soloist Hanna Husár sings arias from Löftet från Kungliga Operan which has just had its world premiere. Behind the piano we find Mattias Bohm.

The conversation starts at 18:00 (in Swedish). Before and after, you are welcome to visit our exhibitions and Bistro Nobel for a glass of bubbly or snacks. See our evening menu here.

To purchase tickets, see below.

There will be no refunds once tickets are purchased.
