Sir Paul Nurse − geneticist, cell biologist and Nobel Prize laureate – has studied the fundamental mechanisms of life throughout a long scientific career. His discoveries have helped to explain how cells regulate their cycle of growth and reproduction.

In his new book What is Life?: Five Great Ideas in Biology, he describes what we know today about the nature of life on earth. The book discusses the cell, the gene, evolution by natural selection, life as chemistry and especially life as information. In this conversation with Gustav Källstrand of the Nobel Prize Museum, Nurse will tell about life’s richness, the importance of knowledge and what it is like to make a Nobel Prize-rewarded discovery.

The conversation will begin at 18:00 and will be in English.

You are welcome to join us for a full evening at the Nobel Prize Museum, when our exhibitions, bistro and shop will stay open until 21:00.

In collaboration with Volante.

With a Nobel Prize Museum membership you can attend this and many other activities free for one full year. Read more and become a member of the museum here.
