The scientific discoveries that are rewarded with the Nobel Prize are interesting but not always easy to comprehend. At S\u00f6dra Teatern, members of the Nobel Committees that selected the Laureates in Physics, Chemistry and Physiology or Medicine \u2013 Ulf Danielsson, Sara Snogerup Linse and Anna Wedell, respectively \u2013 will come to our rescue.<\/p>\n

Afterward, comedian, actress and TV presenter Petra Mede will lead the audience in a tricky Nobel quiz.<\/p>\n

The evening\u2019s moderators will be Anna Sj\u00f6str\u00f6m Douagi, programme director at Nobel Prize Museum, and Gustav K\u00e4llstrand, Nobel Prize expert and historian.<\/p>\n

The entire programme will take place in Swedish.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ulf Danielsson<\/strong>\u00a0is professor of theoretical physics at Uppsala University. His research deals with how string theory can be used in cosmology. He has written several popular science books, been a guest-host of Swedish Radio\u2019s daily programme Sommar on the P1 network and appeared on the Swedish Television quiz programme P\u00e5 sp\u00e5ret. Ulf is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and its Nobel Committee for Physics.<\/p>\n Sara Snogerup Linse<\/strong>\u00a0is professor of molecular protein science at Lund University, Sweden, where she conducts research on proteins that play a role in such diseases as Alzheimer\u2019s, Parkinson\u2019s and diabetes. Sara is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and its Nobel Committee for Chemistry. In addition, she writes and illustrates children\u2019s books.<\/p>\n Anna Wedell<\/strong>\u00a0is professor of medical genetics at Karolinska Institutet and conducts research on the diagnostics of inherited diseases. She also does research on matters related to making changes in the human genome. Anna is a member of the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet and the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Petra Mede<\/strong>\u00a0is a comedian, actress and author. Since 2006 she has appeared frequently on Swedish broadcast media and has co-hosted on a number of major TV gala productions, including the Eurovision Song Contest, and has served as the Christmas programme host on Swedish Television. Petra was a cast member of Felix Herngren\u2019s acclaimed and prize-awarded TV drama series Bonusfamiljen (The Bonus Family).
