Everyone knows that time moves forwards, but why? Does the direction of time mean that it also has a beginning – and an end? What does it mean that time can move at different speeds in different places, and why can’t you travel back in time (or can you?).

Ulf Danielsson is Professor of Theoretical Physics at Uppsala University and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He has written popular science books such as Mörkret vid tidens ände (2015), Världen själv (2020) and Handbok för medborgare i universum (2022). He appears in TV and radio programmes such as Muren (SVT) and Filosofiska rummet on Swedish national radio.

In a conversation with Gustav Källstrand for the Nobel Prize Museum’s podcast Idéer som förändrar världen, Ulf Danielsson will discuss everything you always wanted to know about time. The conversation will be in Swedish.

The ticket price also includes entrance to the museum’s exhibitions, which are open until 21:00. Before and after the conversation, Bistro Nobel serves its Friday menu with carefully selected small dishes, suitable wines, beer, cocktails or non-alcoholic options. The bistro and the shop are open until 21:00.
