Was awarded to World Food Programme for or its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.
Hunger does not exist within a vacuum, it is connected to war and conflict where it is used as a weapon. In our process, we have examined the dry goods, packaging and methods that this year’s Peace Prize winner, World Food Programme, uses in their practical work. The design consists of black beans on raw silk, enclosed within a vacuum package made from polyethene.
